New York City runs the nation's most expensive jail system, with the worst results. Meanwhile, crucial community needs - like housing, healthcare, education, and employment go unmet. The result is a humanitarian crisis in our jails and on our streets. Elected leaders must utilize this year's budget process to correct this injustice.
